Collection: Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris, Summer
The last day of summer found me in Paris, sketching away in the Jardin du Luxembourg. The sun glowed, the garden was at its most radiant and I spent the entire day there, painting for hours, until the whistle blowing of the park guards let us know it was time to leave. Closing up my sketchbook and wandering away from the garden left me feeling sad and wistful - I was saying goodbye to both Paris and Summer...
But I had the sketches to remind me of that day, and they inspired this collection. These five paintings are a memory of summer that will last. Painted on the same gorgeous Hahnemuhle paper in my sketchbook, they are bright sunshine, blue skies and brilliant flowers in bloom on a perfect day in Paris.
