About This Piece

"One of the first things I look for when strolling around town is what's blooming in Nantucket's Max Wagner Memorial, formerly a watering spot for horses, now planted with flowers and adorned seasonally by the Nantucket Garden Club since 1973. The Island was without the historical marker for a year after it was struck by a car and broken in March of 2020 (thanks 2020), it was refurbished and reinstalled on March 11, 2021, and still looks beautiful."
